Big R Manufacturing, LLC designs and fabricates massive bridge for South Jersey Transit Authority

Big R fabricated a massive bridge that will serve as a gateway to Atlantic City. The South Jersey Transit Authority (SJTA) contracted with A.P. Construction, Inc. of Blackwood, NJ to furnish design and installation of the structure, which spans a thirteen-lane tollbooth. A.P. Construction chose Big R to design and supply this landmark bridge. Big R delivered the 240' long bridge in 8 prefabricated sections, to minimize field work.
After careful planning and coordination of detour routes, A.P. Construction closed the roadway during the night and set the bridge in place. Mike Petrongolo, Vice President of A.P. Construction, was very impressed with the fit of the bridge. “We had all night to set it and we were done by midnight. I couldn’t believe how fast it went.”
